Newsletter No.15: July, 1998

What an incredible half-year Invested 998 units for 719 unit profit or 72% Profit on Turnover.
I had more than 95% of those bets and on a $100 unit basis am more than $50,000 in front for the six months.

I have compared the overall (light colors) to the "betting to prices" (dark colors).
Revising and fine tuning all the time is the way to extra accuracy and better POT (Profit On Turnover).
In the "Diary" the Win/Place bets use the following strategy:
Category 1 selections bet 6 units Win if 1/1 or better available, 3 units eachway if 4/1 avaialble.
Category 2 selections bet 4 units Win if 2/1 or better available, 2 units eachway if 4/1 available.
Category 3 selections bet 2 units Win if 3/1 available, 1 unit eachway if 4/1 avaiable.
For TAB Bettors 1/1 = $2.00 TAB ... 4/1 =$5.00 TAB.
With the Place Parlay Simulator start with bank 10 units and bet 60% of Progressive
bank for Place until bank less than 2 units, at which point re-build to 10 units,
or more than 110 units at which point revert to 10 units.

An up and down day I started "up" and finished well down with the flu, but I finished "Up" on the betting backing Roulette although it strictly did not qualify and then retiring to bed after that race.

But for the systems as they stand outlay would have been 34 units on the win/place and 20 on the
place escalator a total outlay of 54 units for a return of 58.5 a overall profit of 4.5 units.

As often happens a miserable day is followd by a great day. Three winners from 6 final bets and both selections eliminated by Price Not Available also won, making the "gross" 5 from 8. However as the "Grey" Table continues
to illustrate value betting is better in the long run, the table shows a POT of 52.8% for value betting compared to
20.7% for the "Gross" selections.
This 52.8% is a "weighted" average of Category 1 of 25.8%, Category 2 of 62.8% and Category 3 of 50%
whilst the mathematical average of these three is 46% the weighted average represents the proportion of
6 unit bets on cat. 1 4 unit bets on cat 2 and 2 unit bets on cat 3.

An outlay of 16 units on the win/place and 10 on the
place escalator a total outlay of 26 units for a return of 73 units an overall profit of 47 units.
